Film

I have always enjoyed a good movie, it entertains and takes you to another world for a time. They combine all the artistic mediums that I love into one field. There's the perfectly framed shots of the characters we come to know throughout the story. Scenes in a film can be really artistic, like painted pictures placed in a sequence. I love when the camera shots in a movie come from a different angle, giving a unique perspective.

The music is key to movies as well. A good soundtrack can sometimes tell me right away if the film is going to be great. Powerful, dynamic, and emotional, the music in a movie adds to the impact it has on your senses. The subtle background crescendos at key moments in the story, help heighten the emotion in the scene. I've always loved listening to John Williams soundtracks for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Superman, and Jurassic Park. Recently, I was blown away by the cool soundtrack for the movie Signs.

The effects of movies have always interested me too. The computer animation, stop-motion, tiny miniatures, and makeup effects all seem like they would be sweet to work with.

This is yet another of my many projects that I would love to be involved with. My hopes are to have the money to pick up a little equipment over time so that I could try making my own movie. I'll keep you posted on this on-going dream of mine.
